Anila Noor

​Anila Noor is a co-founder of the European Coalition. She is also the founder and head of New Women Connectors, a movement that brings the unheard voices of migrant and refugee women living across Europe into the mainstream. Anila is an activist and policy influencer for diversity, inclusion and social justice, a Feminist Ecosystem Builder, and a TEDx Speaker based in the Netherlands.

She founded New Women Connectors in order to shift the perspective to the refugee agenda and advocate for policy that prioritizes inclusion, then integration. Through New Women Connectors, Anila highlights the refugee participation gap in the EU Member States and Institutions, as well as designs and implements trainings on the meaningful participation of refugees in diplomacy.

Anila is also a member of the European Commission Expert Group and evaluator for AMIF calls. As an Advisor and expert consultant, she works with different institutions on designing engagement projects related to inclusion and diversity. She is a former fellow of the Open Society Foundation, a former member of European Migrant Advisory Board, Urban Agenda and has worked as a policy advisor on integration for the City of Amsterdam. Anila is on the board of ENS, ASYLOS, Global Independent Refugee Women Leaders (GIRWL). She is also part of Advisory of UNHCR Taskforce for PoCs, the Kaldor Centre of Emerging Scholars Network Australia, the steering committee of the Global Refugee-Led Network (GRN).

Anila has presented working papers in academic dialogues at Oxford University, Bristol University and Erasmus University. She is currently working on the article Receiving Refugees in Urban Settings: Narratives and Meaningful Participation. Anila graduated from Erasmus University Netherlands.
